Supply Chain Executive
About the Role
We are looking for a Supply Chain Executive to own end-to-end vendor management with our China-based freight, sourcing, and manufacturing partners. This role sits at the center of our hardware supply chain — coordinating mold and component imports, freight and customs, and vendor negotiations, and will play a key role as we scale our in-house SMT manufacturing capability. You will work closely with our China-side coordination partners and cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, finance) to keep imports on schedule and cost-competitive.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day relationships with China-based vendors, freight forwarders, and sourcing/coordination partners (e.g., trading houses, CFAs, forwarders) for molds, PCBA, and electro-mechanical components.
- Run competitive RFQ processes for freight (air/sea/hybrid) and sourcing — collect, benchmark, and negotiate quotes across multiple vendors to optimize landed cost.
- Own import logistics end-to-end: origin handling in China, freight booking, HS code and duty classification, Bill of Entry, customs clearance, and door delivery in India.
- Build and maintain landed-cost models (freight, duty, insurance, clearance charges, FX) to support sourcing and pricing decisions.
- Track vendor performance against cost, quality, and delivery-timeline commitments; escalate and resolve delays or discrepancies.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (engineering, finance, delivery teams) to align import timelines with project and production schedules.
- Support supplier development and onboarding for new sourcing categories, including evaluating partners for an in-house SMT line setup.
- Maintain accurate shipment tracking, documentation (IEC, PI, COO, packing lists), and reporting for ongoing shipments.
What We're Looking For
- 5–8 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or logistics, with hands-on exposure to China sourcing and/or freight forwarding.
- Working knowledge of import processes: incoterms, HS codes, customs duty structures, Bill of Entry, and clearance procedures in India.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating and benchmarking freight/vendor quotes (air, sea, or hybrid shipments).
- Comfortable coordinating directly with China-based counterparts (vendors, forwarders, trading partners) across time zones.
- Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills for cost modeling and vendor comparison; familiarity with ERP or tracking tools is a plus.
- Experience with electronics/hardware components (PCBA, molds, SMT) is a strong plus.
- Excellent written communication — comfortable driving vendor negotiations over email.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
Nice to Have
- Mandarin language skills or prior experience working with China-based teams.
- Exposure to setting up or scaling an SMT / electronics manufacturing line.
- Background in IoT, electronics, or hardware product companies.
What We Offer
- A high-ownership role at the center of the company's hardware supply chain, with direct exposure to leadership.
- The opportunity to shape vendor strategy as the company scales in-house manufacturing.
- Competitive compensation, based in Delhi/NCR.
